16th District
The American Legion Department of Virginia's 16th District is boasts over 4,700 members of 17 Posts in Culpeper, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William, and Stafford Counties in Northern Virginia. We also represent Legionnaires in Rappahannock County.

We are proud to be members of the world's largest  wartime veteran's organization, and support a full range of American Legion and community programs at every level, from our own hometowns to nationwide.

16th District Commander Charlie King
 

After 20 years of honorable service, Charlie retired from the United States Air Force in 1995.

Charlie has been an active member of Purcellville’s American Legion Post 293 for 12 years, and has successfully served in many leadership positions, including Sergeant-at-Arms, Vice-Commander, and Commander.

Charlie has previously served the 16th District as its Sergeant-at-Arms and Vice-Commander.

Charlie has also been a member of Purcellville’s S.A.L. Squadron 293 for 8 years, and has successfully served in many leadership positions, including Vice-Commander, and Commander.
